Ten PhD students started their TACK research on 1st March 2020 in 10 different universities. They met for the first time during the first Foundational Course meeting in The Netherlands. Here is a short report from the PhDs on the Foundational Course:
A warm welcome to Stefan Anspach, Wivina Demeester, Françoise Fromonot, Boris Brorman Jensen, Hilde Léon, and Caroline Van Eck, who accepted the invitation to become members of the TACK Advisory Board.
This first foundational course session marks the start of the first training axis of the TACK network, which is entitled “Approaching Tacit Knowledge”. This training axis consists of three modules, which focus respectively on Matters, Methods and Media. During these three modules, PhD candidates will work on a joint product, an extended reader, which we call Konvolutt (envelope, cover, or “something being knotted together”). The Konvolutt is at the core of this training axis, and is seen as an organically developing common ground that the PhD candidates compile through a series of workshops, discussions and readings.
