Paula Strunden

Academy of Fine Arts Vienna, Institute for Art and Architecture

Based between Amsterdam and Vienna, Paula Strunden is an architectural designer and artist who develops and builds multisensory mixed reality installations. Having studied at the Bartlett School of Architecture UCL and worked for Raumlabor Berlin and Herzog & de Meuron Basel, Paula’s work explores the role of architecture at the intersection of the virtual and physical realm. As Associate of Store, co-founder of Soft Bodies and the educational XR program Virtual Fruits, Paula has led VR/AR workshops at high-school and cultural institutions in London and abroad and tutored at the Bartlett Summer School and Architectural Association. Her room-scale XR installations have been exhibited at design and film festivals internationally, as well as the Royal Academy of Arts, Estonian Museum of Architecture, MU Artspace Eindhoven and Eye Filmmuseum Amsterdam.
